The Hazelton Cross Country Ski Society is incredibly grateful to receive $110,000 from the Rural Economic Diversification and Infrastructure Program!

The funds will go towards site planning for the construction of a 5km ski trail, including a beginner loop and a main loop, around Rossvale Lake on Wilps Spookw Territory.

Participation in nature supports health and wellbeing for both individuals and communities. A cross-country ski trail network on Gitxsan Territory will increase access to outdoor recreation, encouraging participation in cross-country skiing and other healthy activities. By connecting people with the land, this project has the potential to strengthen community, support wellness, and foster a deeper relationship with nature.
