Who We Are
The Hazelton Cross-Country Ski Society is a non-profit society based in Hazelton, BC on Gitxsan Territory. The society was established in 2021.
Our members are cross-country ski enthusiasts who have come together to develop a network of groomed, tracked, and maintained cross-country ski trails because we want to share the joy of cross-country skiing with friends, family, and members of the communities on Gitxsan Territory.
Our Purpose
To enhance and sustain the quality of cross-country skiing experiences for the communities on Gitxsan Territory.
To unite cross-country ski enthusiasts by strengthening the cross-country ski culture on Gitxsan Territory.
Directors
Bev Busby believes healthy outdoor activities foster strong families and communities and is proud to have raised her family on Gitxsan Territory.
Candace Munroe believes recreation opportunities like cross-country skiing will draw essential professionals such as healthcare workers and educators.
Andy Busby views health as both a resource and a goal and is excited for the growing cross-country ski community with the development of groomed trails.
